New Delhi: India on Saturday reported 1,45,384 new cases of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours, pushing the country caseload to 1,32,05,926, while the death toll mounted to 1,68,436 with 794 more fatalities.
According to the Union Health Ministry, the active cases rose by 67,023 to stand at 10,46,631. It is now 7.93 per cent of the total caseload.
The past 24 hours saw 77,567 people recovering from the deadly virus, taking the total recovery count to 1,19,90,859, which is 90.80 per cent of the case tally. The fatality rate stood at 1.28 per cent.
Meanwhile, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that a total of 25,52,14,803 samples have been tested so far for coronavirus. Out of this, 11,73,219 were tested in the past one day.
On the vaccination front, a total of 9,80,75,160 people have been vaccinated across the country till now.
